New Jersey man's therapy dog stolen in the Bronx

HILLSBOROUGH, N.J. (AP) — A New Jersey man's therapy dog was stolen from his truck in the Bronx.

Fito Irribarra of Hillsborough has diabetes and he says Angelo lets him know when his glucose level is high. The 6-pound white Maltese would lick him to alert him.

Irribarra was delivering furniture on Jerome Avenue in the Bronx last Thursday when he said someone took the dog.

He tells NJ.com he couldn't believe someone would take Angelo.

Irribarra has returned to the neighborhood every day since, looking for the dog and posting fliers offering a $300 reward for Angelo's return.
