Nature's Variety says no illnesses have been reported, but became aware of a potential issue after the Food and Drug Administration found a surveillance sample tested positive for Salmonella.

In humans, Salmonella can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping and fever.

In dogs, the bacteria can cause similar symptoms to those experienced by humans along with decreased appetite.

Consumers can call  888-519-7387 from 8 am to 7 pm Central time, 7 days a week during the recall.  Or, e-mail Nature’s Variety directly via cservice@naturesvariety.com.
