NEW JERSEY (FOX5NY.COM) - Morris Habitat for Humanity dedicated new homes for 10 families on Martin Luther King Avenue in Morristown, New Jersey, on Friday. It is the group's largest project to date.
One home was built for Marisol Santos and her two children, one of whom is handicapped. The unit was built completely with his needs in mind.
"It feels amazing to have finally completed such a large project and to have so many people brought under one roof," said Blair Bravo, Morris Habitat's CEO. "We need more large projects like this one. The need for safe and affordable housing continues to grow."
All the families went through a rigorous application process. They worked hundreds of hours alongside volunteers and staff to complete the project and make their dreams of home ownership a reality.
Through volunteer labor and donations, Morris Habitat has provided homes for low-income families for more than 30 years.
