Monmouth University campus lock-down lifted
(FOX 5 NEWS) - Classes were back in session Wednesday at Monmouth University after a gunman tried to rob two students, said police.
At about 10 p.m., police alerted the campus to "Shelter in Place" while they searched for the suspect, who they said was wearing a mask and hooded sweatshirt. Police said the man demanded the women turn over their cell phones, but they ran away.
About 20 minutes later, the university tweeted: "Suspect in recent campus event has been apprehended. We're requesting that lockdown be maintained as police search for evidence."
