The attorney who represented adult actress Stormy Daniels against President Donald Trump now says the he may take on the Commander-in-Chief in 2020 for the White House.

"There is a lot of enthusiasm about my run," Avenatti told Rosanna Scotto of FOX 5 NY morning program, 'Good Day New York.'

But with the news that he might launch a bid for the White House, Avenatti is having to answer questions about the alleged millions of dollars he and his firm owe to the IRS.

"This is a complete hit piece. The Right has decided to plant this story in the Daily Beast, and that's exactly what has happened, as an effort to discredit me because they see me as an absolute threat to Donald Trump," said Avenatti.

Claiming he has nothing to hide, Avenatti challenged President Trump to release his financial information.

"I'll be happy to put my tax returns up against Donald Trumps. If the President is watching or his advisers, let's do it this afternoon, said Avenatti.

The California-based litigant says he brings a unique challenge to the President.

"When they go low, we hit harder. Donald Trump already beat 16 or 17 incredibly accomplished politicians in 2016. You are not going to beat this guy talking about daisies and puppies. You are going to have to take the fight directly to him. That's the only way you're going to beat him," said Avenatti.
