Meet two best friends, 101 years apart
SPRING PARK, MN - What's sweeter than an unlikely animal friendship? An unlikely human one. Little Annabelle just celebrated her 4th birthday with her dear friend Annabelle, who just turned 105.
Little Annabelle's daycare is attached to an assisted living community, where once a week they get to do intergenerational activities together. The caretakers knew these two just had to meet. Soon after, these two became fast friends, one hundred and one years between them, all thanks to that introduction and that name- which has only recently become popular.
The U.S. Social Security Administration has been tracking baby names since 1879. "Annabelle" was an uncommon name through much of the early 20th century, but by 2012, it finally broke into the top 100 baby girl names. And both Annabelles are better off because it did. Older names are having a resurgence and this heartwarming, unintended benefit makes us so glad they are. Ethel, Bernice, Mildred, your day will come!
