MAP: NYC Pride March has a new route
NEW YORK (FOX5NY.COM) - The organizers of the annual Pride March in New York City unveiled a new route for 2018's event.
The march steps off Sunday, June 24, at 12 p.m. at 7th Avenue and 16th Street, heads southbound on 7th Avenue, proceeds east on Christopher Street and West 8th Street, turns north on 5th Avenue, and heads uptown to the dispersal point at 29th Street.
March organizers and the NYPD made the changes in the route to better viewing areas and an ADA-compliant viewing area.
Organizers and officials also expect historic attendance in 2019 in connection with the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising, so implementing the new route now prepares for that.
