Man left to die in hit-and-run

A 29-year-old man is dead after being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene in a residential neighborhood in Queens.

The hit-and-run took place Sunday at about 5:30 p.m. in Forest Hills.

Cops are looking for the driver who slammed into Nicholas Ahern, 29, at Continental Ave. and Slocum Crescent. Responding officers found Ahern lying on the street with trauma to his head and body.

The car continued to Queens Blvd.

The vehicle is described as a gray or silver four-door sedan.

Ahern was pronounced dead at North Shore Hospital.
