Man jumps to death after wife fatally stabbed

Police in New York say an elderly man jumped to his death from a Manhattan apartment building and his wife was found stabbed to death inside their apartment.

Police responded to a 911 call in the Inwood neighborhood about 10:15 p.m. Sunday and found 72-year-old Campo Elias Albuja-Montalvo lying on the pavement unconscious and unresponsive in front of the Caroline Apartments.

The officials found his 78-year-old wife, Francia Walsh, lying on a sofa with stab wounds when they got inside the sixth-floor apartment of the 15-story high rise.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene. Police say a knife was recovered from the apartment.

The NYPD says the investigation will continue into the deaths.
