An 18-year-old man is charged with manslaughter after punching an elderly man onto the subway tracks.

The NYPD says that Edward Cordero slugged 65-year-old Jacinto Suarez Wednesday at the jay St.-MetroTech station.  Suarez fell from the punch and landed on the subway tracks.

Bystanders pulled up Suarez from the tracks before an R train entered the station. The FDNY rushed him to a hospital but Suarez died a short time later.  He was a father of ten and a grandfather of 15.

Police said the two men were involved in a "physical altercation" but it was unclear if it was an unprovoked attack.

Relatives told the Daily News that the teen suffers from schizophrenia.
