What they're saying:

In a statement Saturday, MTA Chief Security Officer Michael Kemper said that the shooting was apparently the result of a dispute between two men, and said that the MTA is working with the NYPD to find more footage of the time surrounding the shooting, with the hopes of catching the suspected shooter.

"Guns have no place in transit, which is why we've strongly supported New York State's legal fight to make sure it's illegal to carry them in the subway system," Kemper said.

What we don't know:

It is currently unclear what led up to the gunfire on the subway platform.
