Man busted for large scale graffiti vandalism to trains

A Queens man has been arrested on weapons and other charges after a long term investigation into graffiti on New York City subway trains.

The NYPD arrested Keylan Levine, 28 at his Metropolitan Avenue apartment after the investigation by the Transit Bureau's Special Operation Division.

Authorities say Levine is responsible for a large scale graffiti vandalism to numerous trains throughout the city.  The graffiti caused several thousand dollars in damage.  Some of the targeted trains were on the M line.

A search warrant turned up a Norinco sks M7 rifle, 3 magazines containing 52 rounds of ammunition, a handgun, switchblade knives, metal knuckles and a dagger.

They also removed more than 1,500 cans of spray paint, 4 35mm cameras, and 8 mobile phones.

Levine faces charges that include:  Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a large capacity ammo feed device, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Criminal Mischief, Making Graffiti, and Criminal Trespass.

The NYPD says the investigation is ongoing.
