NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - Police in New York are looking for a man who bit part of a finger off a guard who wouldn't let him into a bar that was closing.
The NYPD says the incident happened in front of the El California Sports Bar on Roosevelt Avenue in Jackson Heights, Queens on February 16, 2019 just after 4 a.m.
The 37-year-old security guard was in the process of closing the bar's doors when a man walked up and asked to go in. The guard told him the bar was closed.
Police say the man started arguing with the guard and then took a bite out of the man's pinky finder before taking off down Roosevelt Ave.
EMS took the victim to Bellevue Hospital, where his finger was reattached before he was released.
The unidentified individual is described as white or Hispanic, medium build, dark close cut hair and he had a goatee. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, black boots and a black jacket with Japanese iconography inscribed throughout.
Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS. Police say that all calls are confidential.
