Man assaults elderly woman, says he won't rape her because he has HIV

Police in Dearborn Heights are looking for a man who robbed an elderly woman inside her home.

He grabbed the elderly woman inside by the throat and demanded money, then tied her up.

Investigators say he entered a home near Van Buren and Colonial through an unlocked front door at 11:50 a.m.

During the course of the home invasion he told the woman he wouldn't rape her because he was HIV positive

A photo was released of the suspect and his vehicle. He is described as a black man between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet tall and is possibly in his thirties.

He has a lazy left eye and was last seen wearing a Detroit Tigers T-shirt and dark pants.

He was driving in a gray or silver Dodge Durango which was last known to be in the area of Telegraph and Joy Road.

He got away with a cell phone and less than $100.
