St. Mark's Comics in the East Village is closing after decades in business. Mitch Cutler has been at the helm for 36 years. He said his employees and loyal customers are like family.

He said the decision to close isn't an easy one. He said running a retail business in New York has so many challenges and he was tired of fighting them all.

Some customers told Fox 5 that they have been shopping at the store for years and that saying goodbye will be hard.

Cutler said the store is running a huge sale. All old comics are 50 percent off and everything else is 30 percent off.

The store will be open through at least the end of February.
