3 people shot near Harlem bar: police
HARLEM, N.Y. - 3 people were shot near a bar in Harlem on Sunday, police said.
The shooting happened at 3:58 a.m. at 2247 Adam Clayton Powell Blvd.
"At first it started like a normal night. Music people having a good time arguing, yelling that’s normal. Just never been to that extreme," Mariah said, a neighbor who lives right above Sunday's scene.
The rowdy scene filled with lots of commotion and raw emotions brewed outside of Just Lorraine’s Place 3 after the shooting happened on one floor beneath Mariah and her family's apartment.
The large police response followed a reported triple shooting near the bar just before 4 a.m.
Police said three men ages 46, 21, and 39 were shot in the leg and were taken to the hospital in stable condition.
"It’s not good for us. It’s not good for nobody," a businessman said who wanted to remain anonymous told FOX 5.
He shared his concern about his customers' genuine worries following the shooting that had his phone ringing off the hook all morning.
"When something happens like this it’s affecting the business and especially like today. I had a lot of customers calling me and asking about it," he said.
The men were outside the bar around closing time when police say an unidentified man opened fire, shooting them multiple times.
The aftermath contributed to a shaky Sunday start for businesses on the block.
"In the morning the media was here. People I see the glasses were broken everywhere they are my neighbors and I want to make sure this not going to happen again," the neighboring businessman continued.
No arrests have been made and police are still searching for the shooter.
