Gunman robs armored car in the Bronx
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NEWS) - A gunman opened fire and stole cash from an armored car in the Bronx Tuesday morning, police said. The robbery happened at 1471 Westchester Avenue just after 9:30 a.m., the NYPD said.
The gunman was wearing a black suit and a black tie, police said. He stormed the driver of the Rapid Armor truck, pulled out a gun and demanded money, police said. The guards quickly drew their weapons and shootout began in front of EG Money Services.
The suspect ran down Westchester Avenue and continued shooting until he got to Colgate Avenue and fled in a red Honda Accord.
Surveillance video from a corner bodega shows a woman running away as bullets were flying, seconds later deli workers ran out to see what happened.
