Girl's body in crib leads police to review sister's death

MEDINA, Ohio (AP) — The discovery of a young girl's decomposed body in a crib at an Ohio apartment is leading authorities to take another look at the death of a baby in that same family two years ago.

Their father was charged with corpse abuse and held on a $1 million bond Thursday after a cable television technician found the body of 21-month-old Ember Warfel. Thirty-four-year-old Eric Warfel of Medina told police he had put bags of garbage in his daughter's room to mask the smell.

Warfel and his ex-wife had lost another daughter whose March 2013 death was ruled as a "sudden unexplained infant death."

Medina police tell the Northeast Ohio Media Group they'll take another look at that case. WKYC-TV reports the county prosecutor's office will do the same.
