Girl, 8, fights off attacker
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - An eight-year-old girl fought off a would-be rapist in the Bronx and now cops want to find the suspect. The child was walking into her building in the University Heights neighborhood on Saturday evening when the man put his arms around her head and mouth and placed his hands down her pants, said police. The girl began screaming for help and managed to run off. She was treated at a local hospital and released.
Surveillance video of the man has been released.
Cops describe the attempted rapist as Hispanic, 5'9" tall and about 165 lbs. He was wearing a dark baseball cap, a gray hoodie sweat shirt, a red T-shirt, ripped light jeans and grey sneakers.
