Garbage truck strikes woman leaving her critically injured
NEW YORK - A woman was critically injured when as she crossed a street in the Dyker Heights section of Brooklyn Tuesday.
The woman was crossing at the intersection of 73rd St. and 11th Ave. at about 9:55 a.m. when she was struck by the sanitation vehicle, said police.
She was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.
An out-of-control garbage truck smashed into a house in upstate New York Monday damaging the home. The homeowner was inside the house when the truck hit but was not hurt, said New York State Police.

In August, a six-year-old girl was killed when an SUV slammed into her as she crossed the street in Dyker Heights.
