NEW YORK (FOX 5 NEWS) - Family and friends are raising money for two New Jersey high schoolers who were mowed down by a car in Times Square last week.
Jessica Williams and Destiny Lightfoot were just weeks from prom and graduation from Dunellen High School when a man apparently intentionally drove over them and many others on a sidewalk in Times Square. They have both undergone surgery.
Williams's cousin, Nicole Guild, set up a GoFundMe page for her recovery. "She is currently in critical condition with many surgeries and a long road to recovery ahead of her," the page says.
Meantime, Lightfoot "broke her tibia in her left leg and has received a titanium rod and screws to support her leg and a muscle fracture in her right foot," according to the GoFundMe page set up for her medical expenses.
A teen from Michigan, Alyssa Elsman, was killed.
Police have charged Richard Rojas of the Bronx with murder and 20 counts of attempted murder.
