First Look: 3 World Trade Center
NEW YORK (FOX5NY.COM) - Silverstein Properties is one step closer to completing construction at the World Trade Center site. The developer is having a grand opening on June 11 for 3 World Trade Center. The 80-story tower is the fifth-tallest building in New York City. So far, about 40 percent of the building is leased.
Silverstein Properties Chairman Larry Silverstein said the building will be a kind of home to about 16,000 employees of various companies.
Crews are still putting on the finishing touches. The building has floor-to-ceiling windows, many with panoramic views of the city and the September 11 Memorial's reflecting pools.
Silverstein said he hopes to break ground in the next several years on the final building to complete the World Trade Center site.
