Fearless dog chases bear

NEW JERSEY (FOX 5 NY) - A brave West Milford, New Jersey dog chased a black bear from a neighbor's backyard.

Mark Stinziano's home security camera captured the bear in his backyard.  It had knocked down his bird feeder and was eating the contents.

The neighbor's dog, Riley, raced into the yard. Riley slammed into the startled bear, which scrambled to escape.

Riley's owner, Alan Tlusty, says his dog always chases the bear whenever he sees him in the yard.

Stinziano says Riley also checks on his children when they're in the pool.

The New Jersey Dept. of Fish and Wildlife says that people who live in areas with bear activity are better off not having bird feeders because they attract the bears.
