Falling ice forces street closures in Midtown
NEW YORK - Several streets remained closed Monday due to ice falling from buildings in Midtown.
West 58th Street was closed between 7th Avenue and Broadway while West 57th Street was closed from 6th Avenue to Central Park South.
Additional closures were made near 6th Avenue and West 42nd Street.
The road closures caused gridlock as the work week got into full swing.
No serious injuries were reported as rising temperatures on Sunday caused ice to loosen and come crashing down from Columbus Circle to the Empire State Building.
