ESPN reporter threatens Kevin Durant
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - ESPN sportscaster Stephen A. Smith says despite admiring NBA star Kevin Durant, he's wrong for calling Smith a liar. On Friday, Smith said Durant was considering a move to the Los Angeles Lakers.
On Monday, Smith fired back during the show, First Take, and threatened to dig up dirt about Durant.
“You don’t want to make an enemy out of me. And I am looking right at the camera," said Smith. "We really want to go here? We really want to start something with me? You sure about that? Do you really want to see me in an NBA arena? I can found out more in 10 minutes than I can in 50 phone calls. We really want to go here? We really want to start something?" said Smith.
Durant, who plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder, had denied the report: "I don't talk to Stephen A Smith at all. No one in my family, my friends do so he's lying," said Durant.
"You want to start something, that's just not the wise thing to do," said Smith.
In 2009, Smith was suspended from ESPN for a week following comments he made about domestic abuse and suggesting women should make sure they don't provoke attacks.
