Elderly woman hit, killed by truck in Brooklyn: NYPD
BROOKLYN - An elderly woman was struck and killed by a truck while crossing the street in Brooklyn on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
According to authorities, the victim, an 83-year-old woman identified as Carolyn Cox, was crossing Bond Street from west to east mid-block when she was hit by the passenger side of a 2018 Kenworth Dump Truck that was heading west on Butler Street and attempting to make a right turn onto northbound Bond Street in Cobble Hill.
Cox was rushed to Brooklyn Methodist Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The driver of the truck, a 39-year-old man, remained on the scene, police said.
So far, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
