Crash at Long Island intersection leaves 2 men dead
YAPHANK, N.Y. (AP) - Police on Long Island are investigating a crash at an intersection Saturday night that left two men dead.
The crash occurred on William Floyd Parkway in Yaphank. According to Suffolk County police, 70-year-old Robert Manganaro had stopped his 2004 Chevrolet Suburban at a red light at the intersection of Yaphank Woods Road at about 7:30 p.m. when he was rear-ended by a 2017 Honda Accord.
The impact sent Manganaro’s vehicle into the intersection, where it collided with a 2018 Nissan Maxima.
The driver of the Accord, 41-year-old Clydon Bazzey of Mastic Beach, was pronounced dead at the scene. Manganaro, of Yaphank, was pronounced dead at Stony Brook University Hospital.
The driver of the Maxima was treated at the hospital for minor injuries.
