Crane crashes into car in the Bronx
A crane crashed onto a car driving down a Bronx street on Tuesday morning.
NEW YORK - The crane on a boom truck tipped broke off and crushed a car in the Bronx Tuesday morning. The 22-year-old driver in that car somehow escaped with only minor injuries.
It happened on Bedford Park Boulevard and Jerome Ave.
The truck was lifting construction materials up a building when the lift broke.
The driver was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital to be checked out.
The FDNY evacuated approximately 29 workers from the site out of precaution so the Department of Buildings could have inspectors make sure it was safe.
