PHOENIX (KSAZ) - No regrets.
An unidentified man covers his face as his friend, Magenta, leads him along.
The couple walks away after a bizarre attempt at a romantic Wednesday morning.
Just before 6 a.m., they made their television debut when their canoodling was caught on ADOT cameras and broadcasted to all in the valley.
But before the laughs, there was serious concern.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety fielded multiple calls at around 5:30 a.m., with people worried about the couples' intent and safety.
The stretch of Interstate 17 and Bethany Home Road was shut down as Phoenix fire and police rushed to the scene, but once the situation came awkwardly into focus, the man quickly got down before we watched Magenta's graceful delight.
The officer was not hurt when Magenta's purse hit him right in the noggin' and after both were cited for trespassing, they were set free.
Magenta made some time for us to make a statement that says it all.
"I think it's pretty awesome," she said. "Yeah, I mean, the traffic that had to stop wasn't awesome, but what we were going to do was pretty awesome."
