Cops: Man drives drunk through airport

Police say a drunk driver drove around a Long Island airport after crashing through a fence early Saturday morning.

Police say that Kroy Moore, 34, of Wyandanch ran through a red light on Mount Avenue at about 1:35 a.m.

A Suffolk County Police officer attempted to pull over his 2015 Volkswagen Jetta but police say he refused to stop.

Police say a pursuit started but it was terminated a short time later. Approximately a minute later, the vehicle was seen by officers on New Highway in Farmingdale.

Police say that Moore drove through a fence at Republic Airport and continued to drive on a runway and through the airport until his vehicle became inoperable.

Moore then got out and tried to run away but he was captured.

Moore was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and Alcohol, Criminal Trespass, False Personation, Criminal Mischief and Unlawful Fleeing of a Police Officer.
