Construction crane collapses in Manhattan
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - Officials say a boom crane malfunctioned in midtown Manhattan, causing a minor injury.
Police say the hydraulic system on the boom crane failed, causing the boom to lower to the ground.
It happened at 34th Street and Seventh Avenue just before 10:30 p.m. Monday. Police say the crane operator suffered a minor injury to his foot.
34th Street was closed in both directions between 7th and 8th Avenue in Manhattan at the start of the morning rush Tuedsay.
