Community, family are key to Harlem's Sugar Hill Creamery
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NEWS) - A couple in Harlem is bringing some nostalgia back to the neighborhood. They've opened a new ice cream shop with an old school vibe. Sugar Hill Creamery co-owner Nicholas Larsen told their story to Fox 5's Zachary Kiesch.
Larsen said Sugar Hill is Harlem's first family-owned ice cream shop since 1983. The shop focuses on small-batch, hand-made ice cream. It also offers non-dairy options.
Larsen said he and his wife have lived in Harlem for a decade. He said when they were working to open the shop, they involved the community in their plans and in the space itself.
