Cicadas could surface on Long Island

Suffolk County could reportedly see cicadas this month.

The noise-making, but harmless, pests are expected to come out of a 17-year lull at Wildwood State Park according to the website Cicada Mania.

It says the Brood V cicadas will emerge in parts of Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania Virginia and West Virginia.  While they could also be seen on Long Isand, they are not expected in New York City.
