MTA bus hit by gunfire

NEW YORK - A bullet fired during a shootout in East Harlem struck an MTA bus but did not hit any of the passengers or the driver, police said Monday.
The M101 bus was heading south on Lexington Avenue near East 125th Street at around 2:20 p.m. Sunday when a bullet went through its front window.
About 30 riders were on the bus when it was hit. The bullet shattered the front window of the bus, and another vehicle was damaged.
Richie Davis, vice president of Local 100 of the Transit Workers Union, told the New York Post that the bullet hit the bus behind the door on the right side.

Davis said the bullet narrowly missed a passenger and the driver, "who is understandably very shaken up and traumatized."
A police spokesperson said two people were firing at each other when the bus got caught in the crossfire. No arrests have been made.
An investigation into the incident was ongoing.
