Bronx towing company offers free NYE rides
A Bronx towing company is offering free towing for New Year’s Eve to prevent drunk driving accidents. FOX 5's Kendall Green has the story.
NEW YORK - A Bronx towing company is stepping up to ensure revelers and their vehicles get some safety on New Year's Eve.
5 J's Automotive is offering free towing services throughout the Bronx from 6 p.m. on New Year's Eve until 6 a.m. the following morning to help prevent drunk-driving accidents.
5 J's lot is filled with mangled vehicles, each representing a cautionary tale of what can happen when drunk drivers get behind the wheel.
The free towing service has been a tradition for more than 20 years and Eddie Vasquez, owner of 5 J's, says he hopes it will continue well into the future.
"If you’re under the influence, if you’re celebrating, if you feel a little intoxicated or something, just give us a call," he said. "We’ll be more than happy to pick you and your vehicle up and take you to your facility free of charge."
