Person in custody after Bronx shooting
The NYPD says a person of interest is in custody after a 24-year-old man was killed and three other men were injured in a shooting outside a Popeyes in the Bronx.
NEW YORK - The NYPD says they have a person of interest in custody after a quadruple shooting in the Bronx on Friday afternoon.
Police say that around 2:30 p.m., four men were shot near East Tremont Avenue and Hughes Avenue in the East Tremont section.
Two victims were reportedly shot in the torso. Another victim was shot in the ankle and the fourth was shot in the buttocks.
Police say one of the men shot in the torso, a 24-year-old, was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The other is hospitalized in critical condition.
Police say the shooting was a result of a dispute that escalated and became violent.
Police say they were searching for a man in gray sweatpants and an olive-colored checkered long-sleeve shirt in connection to the shooting.
