Man in stable condition after being shot while pumping gas
Police are looking for the suspect they said shot a driver, who was stopped at a Bronx gas station.
NEW YORK - The NYPD is looking for the suspect they said shot a driver, who was stopped at a Bronx gas station, in the head during an attempted robbery.
It happened Friday around 12:45 a.m. at the Gulf location on Webster Avenue in the Mount Hope section of town.
According to police, the 51-year-old driver pulled up to the gas station, and as he got out of his white Range Rover, the suspect came around to the front of the SUV and attempted to rob him.
The driver attempted to fight back by spraying the suspect with gas, but that’s when police said the suspect pulled out a gun and shot him in the head before fleeing southbound on Webster.
Residents that spoke with FOX 5 NY say it’s a whole new level of brazen violence.

Man shot in head at Bronx gas station
A 51-year-old man was shot in the head at a Bronx gas station, police said.
"Criminals are getting bolder. They just don’t care," one person said.
The victim was taken to St. Barnabas Medical Center in critical condition, but is currently listed in stable condition, officials said.

Police are investigating the incident as an attempted robbery.
The suspect is described as 5'8", slim build, wearing grey pants and a black-hooded sweatshirt.

No arrests have been made.
