Broadway dancer undergoes rare spinal surgery

NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - Giuseppe Bausilio, 19, is on the road to recovery  after undergoing a rare spinal surgery.

After experiencing severe back and leg pain -- doctors found that Giuseppe had a vascular tumor in his spinal canal.  Normally tumors are solid mass-but his was made of blood vessels. A major setback for Giuseppe - who's a Broadway performer - acting, dancing and singing since he was 11.

Dr. Tanvir Choudhri and his team at the Mount Sinai Hospital got right to work in September for an operation.

Giuseppe is set to perform on Broadway in ‘Hello Dolly’ this march, but the rehearsals start soon in January.  He's very optimistic and feels confident that he'll be fully recovered by then.  He says nothing can stop him from getting back on the stage.
