Bones found in Queens park, possibly human remains

NEW YORK (AP) -- Police say possible human remains were found in a Queens park.

Police say a park employee discovered a skull and bones in Peters Field Park Thursday afternoon between 183rd Place and Henderson Avenue.

Police say the bones were inside a garbage bag and left in a flower bed.

The Medical Examiner's Office is looking into the remains to see if they're human.

NYPD and medical officials are investigating.
