A recall is being issued for almost 200,000 blender bottles that may pose a laceration hazard.

What type of blender bottles are being recalled?

Local perspective:

Approximately 199,000 Vivitar Blender Bottles sold at Target nationwide were recalled on April 3 because the blades can continue to run when the bottle is not attached to the blender, posing a laceration hazard.

No injuries have been reported because of some using the blender bottles.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission noted that the products were sold at Target stores and online at Target.com from December 2024 through January 2025 for about $5.

How can I return the recalled bottles?

What you can do:

Consumers with the recalled blender bottles should stop using the product and call Sakar for instructions on how to get a full refund in the form of a $5 Target gift card or a check, and a pre-paid return shipping label.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission noted that the item must be returned to Sakar to receive a refund. Proof of purchase (receipt) is not required, and Consumers should not return the recalled products to Target stores. Sakar is contacting customers who purchased the bottles.

Consumers can call Sakar at 1-800-592-9541 or email at support@sakar.com, or online at https://www.vivitar.com/pages/recalls or https://www.vivitar.com and click on "Recalls" at the bottom of the page.
