NEW YORK (FOX5NY.COM) - The biggest shopping weekend of the year is just a few days away and the National Retail Federation says it will be a busy one. The NRF expects 69 percent of Americans—164 million people—will do at least some shopping this weekend.
But if you can't stand the thought of crowding into hot stores alongside the masses, don't panic. You can still score some great deals.
Trae Bodge is a smart shopping expert with Slickdeals. She says the deals will be fantastic both in-store and online. So consumers can shop the way they prefer.
These are some of her favorite Black Friday deals so far.
Plenty of apparel is on sale. Macy's is offering 60 percent off pajamas for the whole family.
In electronics, several stores are offering between $200 and $300 off televisions. Best Buy in particular has a 50-inch Sharp 4K TV for $320 off. Kohl's has a Sony PlayStation for $199 plus $60 in Kohl's Cash.
But if you're looking for the red-hot Nintendo Switch, don't expect any discounts. Trae says you're lucky enough if stores have it in stock. Right now, both Target and Walmart have it.
While you're surfing the web for sales, don't forget to use discount shopping websites to simplify things and save even more. Trae works with two in particular: Slickdeals and Gift Card Granny.
Slickdeals has dedicated Black Friday and Cyber Monday pages with all of the ad scans in one place so you don't have to search around or dig through your emails.
Gift Card Granny is the largest online hub for discounted gift cards. You can find gift cards anywhere from 2 percent to 30 percent off. Shop with those cards and, Trae says, you've automatically created your own sale.
But if you don't mind getting up early to wait on long lines in the cold, don't be discouraged, you will be rewarded if you head to the stores.
Trae says they'll be offering really cool things like coupons and gift cards, plus end cap clearance deals that you won't find online. So if you like the holiday shopping chaos, you might want to join in.
