PARAMUS, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say a New Jersey man with an apparent affinity for Red Bull robbed at least two people so he could get the energy drinks.
Eddie Johnson faces robbery, kidnapping and weapons charges.
Paramus police say the 27-year-old Clifton man forced a woman in February to drive him to a store and told her to buy $70 worth of Red Bull.
Police say Johnson struck again last month when he stole a man's smartphone and $30.
The latest robbery occurred last week, when Johnson allegedly forced a man at knifepoint to withdraw $60 from two ATMs. Police say Johnson also ordered the man to drive to a store to buy more Red Bull but fled when the man's credit card was declined.
It wasn't known if Johnson has an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
