NEW YORK (FOX5NY) - Spring is here but winter is trying to have one more moment. A minor snowstorm caused a bit of a mess for the start of the week.
Snow started falling before sunrise on Monday and continued until about noon.
Most areas in and around New York City saw between 4 and 6 inches of snow with a slushy mess on the roads. Some areas saw higher accumulation.
Monday afternoon the snow was expected to start melting as the temperatures rise with partly sunny skies. Temperatures hit the lower 40s in the late afternoon.
Temperatures will continue to rebound on Tuesday.
Unofficial snowfall observations posted by the National Weather Service.
