Angel statues damaged outside church

Police officers in New York are looking for a man who urinated on and then broke two religious statues outside of a Brooklyn church.

It happened early Sunday at Our Lady of Consolation Roman Catholic Church in the Williamsburg section of the borough.

The NYPD says that at approximately 3:57 a.m. a man urinated on two angel statues before knocking them to the ground, breaking them.

He was last seen fleeing going down Metropolitan Avenue towards Bedford Avenue.

The Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the incident. 

The suspect is described as a white, approximately 30 years old, 6 feet tall, and weighing 190 pounds.  He had short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored pea coat, beige slacks and Vann brand sneakers. Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS. Police say that all calls are strictly confidential.
