An igloo and a hot toddy will keep you warm at a rooftop bar this winter
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - From London to Boston to New York City, a special type of igloo allow you to enjoy any rooftop venue all year round.
230 Fifth has 17 igloos available November to my with no minimums or entry fees. Each accommodates up to 12 people.
I decided to check out the Arlo NoMad Hotel's version at the rooftop bar The Heights, which calls the igloos ice huts. Adam Cornelius, the hotel's food and beverage director, strongly recommends you make a reservation for the heated hut.
You can order pizza from the downstairs restaurant. The South Pole pizza has three kinds of cheese, toasted hazelnuts, and truffles. Another pizza has spicy peppers, pepperoni, and honey.
Adam made me two cocktails: The Royds Toddy (Shackleton whisky, Earl Grey tea, lemon, and cloves) and the 88 Degrees South (Shackleton whisky, lemon, lime, and Angostura bitters).
This experience is becoming super popular with people who are getting engaged but you can just hang with friends and enjoy it, too.
