Amtrak service in and out of Penn Station resumes in time for Christmas Eve
NEW YORK CITY - Amtrak trains in and out of New York Penn Station have resumed service after experiencing big delays in the middle of the holiday travel rush.
"All services operating between Philadelphia (PHL) and New York (NYP) were fully restored," Amtrak said in a post on X Tuesday morning. "Thank you for your continued support and understanding during this time."
On Monday, Amtrak blamed signal power issues, and it canceled some trains to relieve congestion.
Amtrak said on Monday trains between Washington D.C. and Boston were also impacted by crew issues left over from Sunday's cancelations.
On Sunday, Amtrak service was temporarily suspended between New York Penn Station and Philadelphia due to downed overhead wires.
