Ameon Skin unveils ice-powered facial treatment line for glowing skin
NEW YORK CITY - At "Ameon Skin" they believe the ice is nice.
Facial treatment products use the power of cryotherapy to make the skin glow.
Founder Alina Mehrle developed the line after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
At just 30 she underwent eight rounds of chemotherapy, which left her skin fragile and dehydrated.
Mehrle says the magic is simple, she explains:
It's a process that helps products penetrate deeper into the skin for fast results. "Ameon Skin" took more than two years to develop.
There are 5 products in the line, like a serum and moisturizer but the rockstar is the frozen essence that must be placed in the freezer for at least 3 hours before applying.
There are two types; the Glow Manifesto and the Supreme Energy. Popping the frozen cube into a small mesh bag makes it easier to apply.
You can find before and after photos on the company's website.
Another new procedure that harnesses the power of cold is the FDA-approved laser, "UltraClear" its cold laser beams remove damaged skin cells, revealing smoother, softer skin.
At the Midtown office of Plastic Surgeon Dr. Tal Dagan, he's seen an increase in people who are trying "UltraClear" for a variety of skin issues.
He says it works on everything from scar reduction to reducing fine lines and wrinkles and even tightening the skin.
This non-invasive procedure has many before and after pictures on its website.
How many treatments you need depends on what you're trying to achieve.
Usually, less superficial treatments yield results that can be achieved in two to three sessions, some require six.
