Actor Jay Thomas has died

NEW YORK (FOX 5 NEWS) - The actor and comedian Jay Thomas has died, TMZ reported. He was 69.

Thomas was perhaps best known for his Emmy-winning recurring role on the sitcom Murphy Brown for a decade. He also appeared on Cheers, Mork & Mindy, and Ray Donovan. He also starred in the sitcom Love & War for three seasons.

His agent confirmed the news to TMZ.

Thomas had cancer, according to reports.
