9-year-old robbed while waiting for bus to school

Police in New York are looking for a cold-hearted thug who robbed a nine-year-old of his $3 while he waited for the bus to take him to school.

It happened in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn.  The NYPD says that it happened at about 8 a.m. on a Thursday last month in the area of Spencer Street and DeKalb Avenue.

The boy was waiting when the robber rolled up on a bike and demanded his money.  He took the cash out of the boy's bag and then rode off.  The boy was not hurt.

The crook is described as a teenager, about 5'7" and weighing about 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue hoodie jacket and dark pants, and of course, riding a bicycle.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.  Police say that all calls are confidential.
