9/11 Coke display at a Walmart sparks outrage for customers
PANAMA CITY, FL - Some Walmart customers in Florida are upset over a Coca-Cola display that portrays stacks of soda cases depicting the World Trade Center towers that fell on 9/11 along with nearby buildings and an American Flag. Some noticed that the towers at Ground Zero were recreated with Coke Zero cases.
One customer, Shawn Richard, snapped a photo of the display on Tuesday and posted it to his Twitter account with the comment "Florida c'mon man".
The Coca-Cola company has since replaced the display at the Panama City Walmart, and has issued the following statement to Mashable:
"We hold this moment in our country's history in the highest regard, and there was nothing disrespectful intended by the display being assembled. It was removed from our Florida store Wednesday."
